The Worlds Best Guitar Strap is being made again. In the 1970s someone had the great idea of making a guitar strap that curved around your body and better distributed the weight of the guitar so as not to tug at your back and neck. An actual ergonomic design of an item that had been made for many decades. It must not have been very successful because they quit making them and disappeared. In the early 1980s by chance I got one and have used it ever since. When I went looking for another one, I found out that they were no longer made, so I started to look for a way to build them myself.
One day Andy, my good friend shared with me that he was looking for ways to help with the relief efforts of the refugees of the world. First with the Syrian refugees that are in Jordan, and more recently those displaced in Ukraine. So over a cup of coffee the idea was born to build the FretSling and sell them to fund these relief efforts. We started out in 2019 trying to get therm made in Jordan but that didn’t work out and then COVID. So I found a local company that is making them for us now. Greatly experienced in leather work, their craftsmanship is far superior to what we originally had received, no offense to those folks in Jordan.
Our plan is for this to be the beginning of a huge movement to change the way guitar straps are made forever. But when you buy a FretSling, realize that you are not just buying a guitar strap. You are partnering with us to try to do some good in the world. Our mission is to relieve the back strain we guitar players sometimes get from wearing these heavy things for hours at a time, and leave a legacy by helping some person somewhere in the world that we will never meet have a better life. Thanks for being a part of the FretSling movement.
Besides, You paid all that money for your guitar. Don’t you want to enjoy playing it? Then get one of our straps.
