Does Your Back Get Sore After Playing That Heavy Guitar?
I love playing my Gibson Les Paul. Its tone is fat and its sustain is epic. But that tone and sustain are because of the dense, heavy body of the instrument. After a while, playing that heavy guitar can take a toll on my back. Still other guitars like a full bodied Gibson ES175 or acoustics like my Martin HD28 are very thick. if you use a straight guitar strap on either of these can pull on your neck and back forward. Let’s face it, most of us play for hours at a time and therefore that tugging on our back and shoulders can really start to make us sore. In order to deal wit h this problem, we are reintroducing the FretSling.
The FretSling is a custom designed guitar strap that actually curves as it comes off the guitar body to go around your shoulder and back. This design allows you to stand up straighter and therefore not get as fatigued when playing a heavier or thicker instrument. It is an ergonomic design, which better distributes the weight of the instrument across your back and shoulders.
